Strategic Portfolio Management
The Strategic Portfolio Management Office (SPMO) is responsible for providing a shared decision-making structure and processes to ensure that UB’s finite technology resources are optimally focused to meet university-wide strategic goals, as well as, overseeing the IT portfolio functions that drive strategy, planning, execution and delivery across departmental and enterprise projects.
The framework fo accomplishing this includes:
- Outreach and Engagement - facilitate transparent project communication and promotes a common understanding between university leadership and campus constituents.

Project Intake - initial collection of project information

Project/Portfolio Review - meeting with sponsors, stakeholders and project resource managers to review high level project activity, establish priority within the portfolios, time frames, outcomes, risks, and other aspects of the projects and portfolios that may impact existing application or services

Portfolio Reporting - various portfolio reports for sponsors, resources and oversight committees

Project Closeout - review and confirm that all aspects of the project have been successfully completed
