Alfiero 205 Training

During the 2025-2026 Winter Break, A/V equipment will be upgraded in Alfiero 205. Upgrades will include the following:

3 86-inch displays on wheels at the front of the room.
A dedicated laptop.
A control system and touch panel, similar to what is in our classrooms now but on a smaller scale.
A dock for a presenter to plug in their own laptop.
The new setup will allow a presenter the ability to display a single application across all 3 screens, or one application on each of the 3 screens.

If you would like to request training to use the new equipment in Alfiero 205, please fill out the request below and once the install is complete and tested a member of our staff will reach out to you. Training may be offered individually or in small groups based on demand and room availability.

Windows 11 Upgrade

As Microsoft is phasing out Windows 10, SOM-IT is working on creating a Windows 11 image for UB issued computers.

We are currently looking for volunteers who would like to test Windows 11 for us on their UB computer.

While eventually all our machines have Windows 11 installed, there currently is no set date yet when the upgrade will become mandatory.

If you are interested in upgrading to Windows 11 on your UB computer, please fill out the form below. A member of our staff will reach out to you when we have an image ready to test.

Existing Windows 10 computers will be upgraded once a stable version of Windows 11 has been created for the school. More information will be provided once we are closer to having a functional version.
