Requesting Access and/or Assignment of Peer Mentors and Mentees

Requesting Access for a New Peer Mentor

To grant your new peer mentors access prior to assigning their mentees to them, please complete the cells in the New Peer Mentor Access tab of the Peer Mentor Assignment file. Submit the file as an attachment to a Navigate ticket (choose Caseload Assignments, then Peer Mentor Assignments from the dropdown). We will reply back to you once their access has been granted.

To send along the peer mentors information at the same time as assigning them their mentees, that is fine as well; proceed to the next section of this document.

Requesting Assignment of Mentees to a Peer Mentor

1. Complete the cells in the New Mentor-Mentee Assignment tab of the Peer Mentor Assignment file. 
   1. Be sure to note whether this is a new peer mentor so that we know to grant them access first before assigning students to them.
2. Submit the file as an attachment to a Navigate ticket. We will reply back to you once their access has been granted. We will reply back to you once the assignments are completed.

Reassigning Mentees to a New Peer Mentor (when mentee’s former mentor has left)

Prior to sending along any peer mentor/mentee reassignments, please run an advanced search in Navigate to determine whether the mentor who is no longer one has students assigned to them. This will ensure that you are reassigning all of the mentees to someone else, before we remove access to the previous mentor who left.

1. In Advanced Search (magnifying glass icon on left toolbar), go to the Assigned To box, select Peer Mentor from the Student has relationship dropdown, and select the correct peer mentor from the staff dropdown menu.
2. You can export your search results to Excel under the Actions dropdown at the top of the table.
3. Use this information to fill in the Reassignment of Existing tab of the Peer Mentor Assignment file.
4. Submit the file as an attachment to a Navigate ticket. We will reply back to you once their access has been granted. We will reply back to you once the assignments are complete.

Peer Mentor Security/Access Important Information

At the end of each academic year (June),

• All peer mentor access/security will be removed from EAB Navigate.
• All peer mentor/mentee assignments will be removed.
