UB Tech Squad and Help Center Services

Description of Services

  • We serve as the primary resource of centralized technology assistance and for University at Buffalo faculty, students, and staff.
  • We are the primary place to provide feedback on services and report problems and computer abuse.
  • The UB Tech Squad offers these additional services to students with their tech devices, for free, in Silverman Library on North Campus, or schedule an appointment for a consultation in their on-campus residence room.
    • Download and install UBIT software
    • Run diagnostics to identify software and hardware problems
    • Remove viruses and malware
    • Reset / reinstall your operating system
    • Update your operating system
    • Provide assistance with Duo
    • Connect your computer to a network (i.e. Macbook)
    • Connect your mobile device to a network (i.e. iPad)
    • Connect your gaming device to a network (i.e. Playstation)
    • Connect your smart device to a network (i.e. Roku TV)
    • Pick up/drop off devices

Exclusions

  • The UB Tech Squad cannot assist with:
    • Perform data backup or data recovery
    • Perform Hardware Repair
    • Help with homework
